They don’t offer Advanced Diploma of Management. Where did you get your information from?
There is a Graduate Diploma of Management. After completing this program you can get into second year of the University of Ballart’s MBA program.
You will need to contact each individual institution if you can get you into their MBA program after GDM.
If you have any question, I suggest you ask the relevant institution directly. That way you will get accurate and detailed information.
Should I get a masters in accountancy or masters in taxation?
I have a BA in Economics and experience in banking/underwriting. I plan to shift my career to accounting and earn a CPA license, and am deciding between two different masters programs. Any advice? I am interested in taxation, but do not want to be inflexible down the road for job opportunities.
Thank you!

What does this tax question mean regarding refund of state/local taxes?
"Did you receive a refund of state and/or local income taxes during 2009 from your 2008 tax return or a prior year tax return?" In 2008 we got a refund because we overpaid from what they took out of our paychecks. Does this mean I enter how much the refund was? Or is this talking about some other kind of refund?
I use the standard deduction and the money where the refund comes from was withheld from my paycheck.
Tax refunds from state and local governments are treated as income by the IRS and must be reported on your federal tax return.
What is an acceptable commute time to work for Melbourne, Australia?
I’m currently applying for jobs and just wondering what is the regular cut off limit for commute times to work for Melbourne, Australia.
I commute 2.5 hours but I am in Sydney, Melbourne you will find most people commute at least an hour, less if they are higher up on the corporate ladder, significantly more if they are just starting out.
Tax on joint interest income for couples living in different states?
I live in CA and my wife lives in NJ. We have a joint account with a CA credit union. Now CA only taxes the interest of CA residents. Since my wife’s non-CA income also contributes to this interest, how should I split it for tax purposes?
If your checking/savings account is community property, then half of the income is yours and half is your spouse’s, for California tax purposes. If not, then any reasonable allocation based on the source of the funds in the account would probably be accepted.
Is regressive taxation the answer to an ailing economy?
Do you think a regressive taxation system would be better for the country?
A higher marginal tax rate for lower income earners would encourage them to earn more money so they can pay less tax and the savings of higher income earners can be used to fuel economic investment to reduce unemployment!
Isn’t the progressive taxation system just penalising the most productive workers in society?
Just when I thought people couldn’t get more hateful toward the poor…
How do I account for Credit Card Merchant account in Tally or other accounting software?
I need to create groups of accounts for a company in Tally or other accounting software. I have 2 merchant accounts with different credit card companies. One of them credits my account in their bank and only sends me a statement of amount and commissions – other sends me a cheque after deducting the commissions. – How do I account for such accounts while making entries in to accounting software? Thanks for your time and help.
I appreciate your answer Mr. Soni. My question was for a merchant account where customers pay me using their credit cards and then I receive the amount from credit card company. One directly credits my account with them while the other sends me a cheque. How do I open these accounts – under which group? Thanks again for your time.
If your are asking about the accounting entries, the rules are given below for your reference.
Rule 1
Debit what comes in. Credit what goes out
Rule 2
Debit the Expenses. Credit the Income
Rule 3
Debit the Receiver. Credit the Giver.
A sample entry is given below for payment for XYZ expenses using credit card:-
Dr XYZ expenses Rs 5000
Cr Credit Card a/c Rs 5000
Next, when you make payment (or deposit cheque in your Credit card a/c), the entry would be:-
Dr Credit Card a/c Rs 5000
Cr Your Bank a/c Rs 5000
Remarks:-
1) XYZ expenses ledger to be opened under group "Expenses Indirect"
2) Credit card a/c to be opened under group "Bank OCC a/c"
3) Your Bank a/c to be opened under group "Bank a/c"

Would you support a tax on energy to help global warming?
If Obama wins in November 2008, and the Democratic Party continues to have control of the Congress I understand that they plan to put a tax on energy to pay for development of alternative energy and discourage use. Of course this could mean a tax on gasoline and your energy bills at home.
The Democratic Party will insist that the money will be set aside for research and development of alternative energy. They say the taxes will encourage people to use less energy that will limit global warming.
Would you support energy taxes for global warming?
I don’t support it.
The law of supply and demand dictates, that at least to some degree, demand will go down as the price continues to go up. And as gas prices go up, alternative energy will become more attractive. Even now, alternative energy tends to cost more to produce than good-old-oil, so those alternative sources don’t make much economic sense.
Over time, the free market can work it out just fine.
Tax due when I sell my share of the 40% of currently owned home?
I currently have 40% of the house shared with my father (60%). My brother would like to purchase the 40% and move in. How would I deal with my taxes when I sell my 40%? Is there a tax exemption if I use this 40% money that I receive and buy another property within a certain time frame? What about the 2 out of 5 rule that I read about, would I be qualified?
If you live in a home for any 24 months (or more) in the 60 months preceding the sale, and you own the home for any 24 months (or more) in the 60 months preceding the sale, and you haven’t sold a home in the preceding 24 months, then you will not have to report the sale nor will have to pay any federal income taxes on the sale if your gain is less than $250,000 (or $500,000 if you are married).
There are a million caveats like did you use the home for business and take depreciation, but I would hazard to guess that, like the other answerer said, you should be able to sell it without a worry in the world concerning federal income tax.
What can you tell me about melbourne florida?
I will probably be moving there soon from ohio and I just wanted to know about it. How far is melbourne from coco beach? Are there concerts in melbourne? Does melbourne have a stage for concerts? How is the crime there? What are the best schools? What are some beaches in or very close to Melbourne? Are the people there friendly? What about shopping in Melbourne? Besides going to the beach what is there to do there? Please tell me anything you think I should know about Melbourne Florida. Thanx!
My family has a house in Melbourne, Florida which we stay at a couple times a year, we usually go down there to just get away and relax so we usually don’t go and see any concerts or anything like that, but we do go to Disney which is only a couple hours away lol. It’s a very good area, my neighbors are very friendly. There is a beach right across the street from where I live, although I’m not sure of the name of it. The closest mall is not too far away, I’d say about a half hour tops which has a nice variety of stores in it. The house we live in is about 10 minutes away from all of the shops, restraunts, supermarkets, ect. I personally love going there on vacation, I don’t know what it would be like living there though.
Good Luck!, hope that helped
